MDG Use

Hello Experts,

 

I am new to MDG technology and would require your help in understanding the same.

 

could anyone let me know what is the acutal use of MDG. Why we need to go for it. I have gone through couple of documents which says it has some advantages over MDM. Is this because why we need to consider SAP MDG for Master Data ? or is there any specific usage of MDG ?

 

Also please let me know if we have any challenges too in SAP MDG.

 

I know im asking a very basic question but couldnt stop myself asking this. Because, I havent get the actual information I needed regarding SAP MDG.

Unable to generate stack file for new system

Dear Team,

 

Our requirement is to generate stack file of Pdu system

We have added New system(SID:PDU) of Enterprise Portal into Solution manager7.1 .

 

Following activities are  completed till now.

 

1.Push sld of Pdu system to Solution manager is successfully completed

2.Create product using solman_workcenter->managedconfiguration->pdu->configure system->Edit assignment is successfully completed.

3.Create logical component using smsy and assign solution to new logical component using solman_workcenter.

 

While generate stackfile for pdu system using maintaince optimizer,it is not showing the product version.

 

Please find the screen shot for your reference,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here Pdu(sld) is not showing..

 

 

 

Kindly advise.

All JCo destinations are grayed out and no data available under "Message Server" drop down

Hello SAP Gurus,

 

I have a problem with JCo destinations under WebDynpro administration -> Content Management. My all JCo connections are grayed out and when I try to create them again, I have nothing in Messager Server drop down under Msg. Server connection tab. Due to this, I can not complete JCo connection and my portal application are throwing JCo runtime exception.

 

My portal version is 7.40 SPS10, I have checked everything. SLD client / Data supplier is connected and working. all other things are working but I have not idea why it is throwing this error and why I don't have any data under "Message Server" drop down.

 

Any pointers will be helpful.

Re-trigger of Tag Notifications from PCo to MII

Hi Experts,

 

I have configured Tag Notifications in PCo version 15.0.0.1959. The tags are of BOOLEAN type with values either 0 or 1. I want the PCo to trigger notification messages only when Tag Value changes from 0 to 1 or from 1 to 0. For most of the tags, the process works fine. However, for certain tags the notifications get triggered twice for example:

 

If tag value is 1, a notification is received

If tag value is 1, another notification is received.

 

Is there any way I can eliminate duplication of notifications in PCo? Do I need to change any time related settings in PCo?

I need to migrate on BPS application into IP application and FOX formula is one of them.

 

The BPS code is as follows:

 

DATA CALMONTH TYPE 0FISCPER.

DATA OFFSET TYPE I.

DATA PERIOD TYPE 0FISCPER3.

 

 

OFFSET = 1.

CALMON_COPYFROM = CONCAT(CALYR, PERIOD).

 

 

PERIOD = 001.

      {CALMONTH, PERIOD} = {CALMON_COPYFROM, 000}.

When I copy and pasted the same code in IP, it was giving me error as below:

When I am executing the FOX Formula, I am getting an error.

 

Also, It would be of great help if someone can help in explaining what exactly does this code do

Deleting old Promotions from the Promotion Management programmatically

Due to disk space issues, I would like to delete promotion jobs(mainly backup jobs) older than a certain date (15 days) for a SAP BI 4.1 platform. At the moment I do this manually once a week, but is there a way of automatizing this process, either by an automatic process in the CMC, or maybe using the RESTful API or the CrystalDecisions.Enterprise libraries?

basic question on querying oracle tables in SAP ERP

Hi,

 

I have some basic question. This question is related to SAP ERP and Oracle Database. 

 

I can query the "dba_users" table....

 

***********

SQL> select username from dba_users where rownum < 2;

USERNAME

------------------------------

SYS

SQL>

******

 

But when I get all the tables, dba_users table is not found......

 

SQL> select tablespace_name, table_name from all_tables where table_name='dba_users';

no rows selected

SQL>

 

I am not sure why "all_tables" didn't return the "dba_users" table, though the "dba_users" table exists?

 

If you've any idea regarding this, can you please let us know.

Hierarchy display issue

Hello

 

We are on AO 1.4 and facing issue with display of hierarchy, will try to explain here in example

 

- We have authorization set on hierarchy in such a way that users should see the levels starting from 5 , 6 & 7 (whereas the actual levels starts from 1 to 4 but as per authorization set user is supposed to see 5, 6 & 7 only.

 

- Now in AO as soon as we click refresh all, user is able to see all the levels ( 1 to 7)

 

- To reset it we have to take an effort to change the prompt values manually and then it works fine

 

- This hierarchy is time dependent

 

Now, I just need guidance will this be issue related to AO or something to do with authorization issue at backend? As users are seeing those levels in hierarchy which they are not supposed to see and If we do the manual tasks things go fine.

 

Please advise

Error creating a new PAS/BI Model

I'm trying to create a model in order to store SAP BW data. I've already created a LINK ID to my BW System and it working ok, but when i try to create de PAS Model it sends me this message:

Selecting all in sap.m.MultiComboBox

Hi experts,

How to select all values in a sap.m.MultiComboBox? My requirement is to keep a default value "ALL" in the MultiSelectComboBox. When user select on ALL, all the other values of the MultiSelectComboBox will be selected and the other way as well

Custom time report - Time cycle 16th to 15th

Hi Expert,

 

We are implementing negative time management for the client.

 

Their time cycle is from 16th to 15th. They would need an attendance and absence report that they would run to generate balances and used hrs so that it can be sent to third party payroll system.

 

Say for the period 16.08.2015 to 15.09.2015 the time has completed its run. The business extracts the report and sends it to the third party. the time evaluation is kick started again. The employee records a backdated absence for 14.09.2015 on 17.09.2015. If the report is run for the period 16.08.2015 to 15.09.2015, it should show the same result as the one that was extracted on 15.09.2015 and sent to third party.

 

Which will be the approach?

 

1. To read data from time clusters

2. To read data from PA2001 and PA2006

3. For current period, read data from time clusters and for past period, read data from PA2001 and PA2006

 

Please advise.

Issues while using PUT in Sapui5 using odata services..

Hi Experts,

 

I'm using Odata services, Everything is working fine Except the moment when I try updating or using "PUT" operation.

In the gateway side while using the same URL, I been able to update it but the same is not happening through SAPui5,

I'm getting a 403 forbidden error, attaching a screen shot of the error.

 

I try reading other blogs, but it was not helpful...I can even post the codes also if anybody want it.

 

Need help !

Business Objects Data Services Installation Questions

I recently inhereted SAP Application Server administration duties from a former employee and I could use any guidance the SCN can offer.

 

I would like to replicate our production Data Services environment into a 'sandbox' to test a database upgrade before upgrading our production database.

 

We are currently running SAP Data Services 4.1 with a Oracle 11G database for Repositories, Source & Target data.  Where can I locate the SAP DS 4.1 software download & 'Evalution' license key?  This is intended to be a short-term install specifically to test the DB upgrade.  I found SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.1 SERVER WINDOWS software download, but I don't know if this is the same as the product we currently use.

 

Also, if this is the correct software, there are several Service Packs available for download (SP1 - SP6).  Do I need to install all 6 Service Packs in sequence?  Or, can I install only the most recent Service Pack (SP6)?

How do I concatenate a single field from multiple rows in BOXI 3.1 WebI?

Hi, 

 

I'm using BOXI 3.1 WebI and have a need to show multiple values of a column in a comma delimited list.  I tried using a horizontal table but if the list goes over the right margin it creates a new page instead of wrapping to the next line like we want.  I can do what I want in Oracle sql using the WM_CONCAT aggregate function but haven't found a way to do it in WebI reports.  Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

Dear Gurus, I am new to PPM Project Management. I have all required roles assigned to my profile. I have maintained the following roles SAP_BPR_PPM & SAP_XRPM_ADMINISTRATOR. I am getting  " No default portfolio assigned; use 'Switch Portfolio' to select one sap " when I am accessing the CProjects from Enterprise Portal. Please let me know the solution. Regards Naveen

SAP NW IDM RDS V1.720 work on IDM 8.0?

RDS Team,

 

Hello. We are on IDM 8.0 (going to SP1 in a week). We are on SQL.

Since our Business Blueprinting for IDM and GRC functionality and requirements are delayed, I would like to test some scenarios with RDS V.1.720 on IDM 8.0.

 

Will SAP NW IDM RDS V1.720 work on IDM 8.0?

 

Is there a separate RDS for IDM 8.0?
